The Carlin Archives' "Purple Heart" webpage has been completed, and the
illustrations now all work. Whew!
The URL is
http://www.attorney.carlin.net/purpleheart.htm.
This page shows ten Carlin men who earned the Purple Heart during World War
II. They served with the Army, the Army Air Corps, the Navy and the Marine
Corps. The data were obtained by Peggy McGill Carlin, of Dallas, to whom
we're very grateful.
The page also shows a copy of the Purple Heart medal ribbon and medal, as
well as a copy of a painting showing General George Washington awarding the
first Purple Heart at Newburgh, NY, in 1783. The painting and medal
graphics were provided by the Office of Military History, U.S. Army.
If you know of any Carlins who earned the Purple Heart in subsequent
military actions, please let me know. Thanks.
