The South Carolina, Texas and Vermont webpages
have been revised and updated, with information and
data about some newly-discovered Carlins in the early
history of those states, new page backgrounds and
updated layouts and graphics.
The South Carolina page includes information about
Capt. James Cornelius Carlin of the Confederate Navy,
who commanded blockade-runners for South Carolina
and for the Confederacy.
The Texas page includes information about Daniel Carlin,
born ca. 1790 in Ireland, who was a member of the
Army of the Republic of Texas, which was active 1836-1845,
when Texas, before it became a state, was an independent
country.
These webpages are actually quite interesting. Even if your
family is not part of the early history of these three states,
you might want to glance at these pages to see about
Carlin pioneers from other Carlin family lines.

As always, I'd welcome your feedback: your ideas, suggestions,
thoughts, reactions, criticisms. Tell me if I've made any typos
(I've double-checked, but a typo can always slip through) or
other mistakes. Tell me more about any of the Carlins on those
pages, or about other Carlin women and men who should be
listed.
With best wishes,
