This is just a brief note to let you know that our "Carlins in Law
Enforcement" webpage has been updated. The URL is
http://www.attorney.carlin.net/professions/police.htm .
We've added two new names since the last time the page was updated,
and we've updated the graphics to make things cleaner and easier to
read.
FYI, there've been Carlins in law enforcement since the Revolutionary
War era. The first was Sheriff Daniel Carlin (ca. 1750 - ca. 1820),
who was elected Sheriff of Patrick County, Virginia, in 1793. Prior to
being elected sheriff, he had been a captain in the Henry County (VA)
Militia during the Revolutionary War. He was later named one of the
original Justices on the Patrick County Court when that county was
formed in 1791. URL for Daniel Carlin's bio:
http://www.attorney.carlin.net/bios/daniel1774.htm .
Suggestion: Please don't tell this factoid about Sheriff Daniel Carlin
to your friends. Their interest will be, well, somewhat limited! <g>
Best wishes for health and contentment in the new year,
Fred
