I am searching J. M. Carlile b. 22 Jan 1845 and died in Aspermont Texas.
He moved his family from tennessee to Texas in early 1900. His wife
Mary Crosslin died in Tennessee before he came West. He was then married to
Edna.
Also looking for James Carlile mar. in Hall Co.,Georgia in 1827 to Rebecca

On January 28, 1877 my g-grandmother, Rebecca Carlil, age 18 married
Thomas Clark, age 17. This occured in Buncombe Co. NC. It was witnessed
by W. Clark, E.P. Ball and Thomas Self.
Can anyone shed any light on these Carliles or Clarks? Is it possible W.
Clark was Thomas's father?
Thomas was on one census in 1880 ennumerated in the household of Sarah
Carlile, mother of Rebecca. My grandmother was listed as M. (Jemima or
Mamie Jane) Carlile and was born before they were married and said to be
the result of rape. Also another daughter born to Tom and Rebecca, M.
V. whom I believe is Maggie. Surname Clark.
If anyone can help with these I would sure appreciate it. Rebecca was on
the census thru 1920 in the Buncombe, Madison Co. areas. Sarah was on
the 1880 then nothing more. Both Sarah (Salla or Sally) and Rebecca were
born in SC. Lived in Fairfield Co. in 1860. No record in 1870 or 1890.
Thank you very much. Margaret sunsethillcem(a)juno.com
