Susanna REDDING appears to be the daughter of Moses REDDING and Priscila RIDER of
Middleboro, Plymouth, MA (1790) and Barnet, Caledonia, VT (1820). I found that Susanna b.
31 March 1785 was the sister of Thankful (REDDING) Mc KEEN of Landaff, Grafton, NH (1810)
living very close to Peter & Susanna (REDDING) CARLETON. Further support for the
connection is demonstrated in the names of Peter and Susanna's children: Susanna
REDDING who married Peter CARLETON of Bath, Grafton, NH. In 1810 Landaff, Grafton, NH we
find James MC KEEN and Peter CARLETON living just 3 doors apart. We also find your
marriage record for James and Thankful (REDDING) MC KEAN in 1804, and Peter and Susanna
(REDDING) CARLETON were married in 1807 also in Landaff, Grafton, NH. Further evidence
that this Susanna, Mrs Peter CARLETON, is the same as the Susanna b.1785 daughter of Moses
and Priscilla (RIDER) REDDING including the use of their names in the names of the
children of Peter and Susanna (REDDING) !
CARLETON:
The first son was named Edmund Edward CARLETON named after Peter's father, b.in Bath 9
April 1808; Moses Redding CARLETON was their second son b. 10 Sept 1809 in Bath or
Landaff; 3rd son was William Hutchins CARLETON, b.1811 named after father's
grandparents; 4th Frederick Cleveland CARLETON was born in 1813; 5th was Abigail Priscilla
CARLETON b. 1814 and named after Abigail (HUTCHINS) CARLETON, mother of Peter; and
Priscilla named after Susanna's mother Priscilla (RIDER) REDDING; and Lucy Johnston
CARLETON was the 6th child b. in 1820. I am unclear of the Johnston and Cleveland family
connections if any."
