I am looking for information on my great grandfather William Carlton.
November 21, 1840 - date of birth (pension records)in Lewis
County, New York (census and family records).
His parents were born in New York (census records).
October 24, 1862 he enlisted in the 13th Mass. Light
Artillery Battery and listed Boston as his residence. He
may be a William Carlton in the 1860 census in Boston
Civil War took him to Louisiana, discharged July 12, 1865.
Dec. 10, 1865, Married Laura Buckley Hurst in New Orleans,LA
1870 LA census, listed as Carrollton, a painter, 2 children
1880 LA census, listed as Carrolton, farmer, 6 children
1900 LA census, listed as Carlton, reporter, 5 children,
1 grandson, and one mother-in-law
October 30, 1906 - entered US Soldiers Home in Dayton, Ohio
January 19, 1909 - died at US Soldiers Home in Dayton, Ohio
buried there

but recovered.
