Below is all I have on a Carlton family residing in the same small farminng community I
grew up in (Chesaning, MI). Is anyone researching this bunch? Do they connect with Edward
Carlton of Rowley?

February 1923 in his home, north of town, Chesaning, Saginaw County, Michigan, at age 62;
He died at 3:30 in the afternoon.1 Rev. Stevens presided over the burial of John G.
Carlton on 15 February 1923 in Wildwood Cemetery, Chesaning, Saginaw County, Michigan.1
He was Member of the Albee Arbor of Gleaners, having joined 26 years ago.1 He and Fannie
Ackerson lived in 1898 at north of town, Chesaning, Saginaw County, Michigan.1
Fannie Ackerson was born on Friday 9 February 1872 in Canada.2 She died on Tuesday 8 May
1956 in Immanuel Rest Home, Saginaw County, Michigan, at age 84.2 Rev. Charles J. Dibley
presided over the burial of Fannie Ackerson on 10 May 1956 in Wildwood Cemetery,
Chesaning, Saginaw County, Michigan.2 She was also known as Fannie Atkinson.2

Saginaw County, Michigan.4 Rev. G. MacDonald Jones presided over the burial of Rene E.
Carleton on 17 February 1967 in Wildwood Cemetery, Chesaning, Saginaw County, Michigan.4
He was a farmer and painter.4 He lived at Chesaning, Saginaw County, Michigan.1
Nona Lewis was born on Friday 20 March 1885 in Roscommon, Roscommon County, Michigan. She
died on Thursday 1 August 1968 in Chesaning Rest Home, Chesaning, Saginaw County,
Michigan, at age 83. She was buried on 4 August 1968 in Wildwood Cemetery, Chesaning,
Saginaw County, Michigan. She was a school teacher. She was a 7th Day Adventist.

17. J. C. (Jake)4 Carleton (Rene3, John2Carlton, 1) was born on Sunday 10 February 1924 in
Chesaning, Saginaw County, Michigan.5 He and Catherine G. Edmonson were married on
Saturday 9 June 1951, daughter of Edmonson and Catherine _____.5 He died on Friday 12
December 1997 in Aleda E. Lutz Medical Center, Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan, at age
73.5 Rev. Edward Weiss presided over the burial of J. C. (Jake) Carleton on 15 December
1997 in Wildwood Cemetery, Chesaning, Saginaw County, Michigan.5
He worked at Roycraft Company of Chesaning. He retired in 1971. He was also a
self-employed television repairman.5 He also went by the name of Jake Carleton.5 He began
military service in February 1943.5 He ended military service in April 1944; and received
an honorable discharge, the Purple Heart, Medal of Valor and a bronze star.5 He was
retired in 1971 in Roycraft, Chesaning, Saginaw County, Michigan.5
