On 30 Mar 1851, Jane was living with Christopher Carlton and Jane
Carlton and Isabella , William, Mary and John at Gill House in Ormside, WES,
ENG.
Jane Carleton was a House Servant on 7 Apr 1861. She lived at Grass
Gate Lodge, in Soulby, WES, ENG, on 7 Apr 1861 (The household of Joseph
Taylor). She lived at Bongate Hall, in Bongate, Appleby, WES, ENG, on 2 Apr
1871 (Residence of George R Thompson). She was a Cook on 2 Apr 1871. and a
domestic servant before 5 Dec 1874.
Jane Carleton married William Payne (my great grandfather), son of
James Payne and Harriet Beeby , on 5 Dec 1874 at the Register Office in
Appleton, WES, ENG. Jane Payne and William Payne and William, Mary
Payne, Harriet, James Payne, and Sarah Jane lived at 1 Bank Lane, in
Crosscanonby, CUL, ENG, on 3 Apr 1881
Jane Carleton died on 6 Feb 1886 at Hury, Hunderthwaite, DUR, ENG, at
age 38
Jane had two children before she met my great grandfather. The first being
William Alan Carlton (9815). William (9815) was born on 31 Oct 1867 in
Scattergate, Appleby, WES, ENG. Birth Certificate gives William Alan
Carlton. All details of "Father" left blank). His baptismal name was
William Allon Carlton. He was baptized on 8 Dec 1867 at the Saint Lawrence
Church in Appleby, WES, ENG. On 2 Apr 1871, William Alan was living with
Jane Carlton and John Carlton at a cottage in St Lawrence, Appleby, WES,
ENG.
William Alan Carlton was a laborer on 3 Apr 1881 at Crosscanonby, CUL,
ENG. As of 3 Apr 1881, he was also known as William Payne.
William Alan Carlton was a Private in the First Border Regiment of
Infantry which In 1959 it amalgamated with the King's Own (Royal Lancaster)
Regiment to form The King's Own Royal Border Regiment on 5 Apr 1891 in
Dover, KEN, ENG, (at the South Front Barracks). As of 5 Apr 1891, he was
also known as William Carlton.

1881. She was also known as Mary Payne (1881 Census).
She lived in Eastburn, WRY, ENG, before 7 Jul 1889. Marriage banns for Mary
Ann (9816) and William Todd (20559) were published at the Parish Church in
the parish of St Stephen at Streeton, WRY, ENG, on 7 Jul 1889, 14 July 1889
and 21 July 1889.and she married William Todd, son of John Todd and Jane
Metcalfe, on 23 Jul 1889 at the Parish Church in the parish of St Stephen in
Streeton, WRY, ENG. William Bradley Sharp and Sarah Jane Butterfield
witnessed the marriage.
On 3 Apr 1891, Mary Ann was living with Jane Todd and William at 5
Skipton Road in Eastburn, WRY, ENG.and she was a cloth weaver. As of 5
Apr 1891, she was also known as Mary A Tod (1891 census). She was a Glass
and China Retail Dealer on her own account at home on 31 Mar 1901.
