Looking at the 1790 U.S. Census, New Hampshire, Rockingham Co., New Market
is shows a Theodore Carlton with 1 free white male over 16, 2 free white
males under 16 and 4 free white females. So you would know he was live then.
I suggested tracing his children and see if he possibly was living with one
of the sons in 1800 and that is why he doesn't show up then.
Then I cannot locate him in 1800. Got to
as there are over 10
people who have listed information on this family.
You might want to contact the Rockingham Genealogy Society, if there is one,
and see if they might be able to help. Or use Rootsweb's message boards for
Hoite/Hoyt.
Good luck.
Marcia

NewEngland
Thank You, Marcia,
This agrees with my information too. It's very appreciated. Thank You.
We have a book from the Historical Collections of the Essex Institute in
Salem, Mass.,
entitled _The Pearsons and their Mills_ which does list Theodore Carleton
as the father
of Harriot Poor Carleton who married John Pearson.. What's missing is
when
and where
he died, and information about his wife's parents. (May Hoite/Hoyt) I say
all this
with gratitude for Your letter and it's nice to meet You!
