The Courant now has an obit database online back to 1991 or so. I check it
from
time to time. There is free access to the obit first line but the full obit is
charged
against a credit card account (50 cents an article).

Obituary: Luther E. Carle of Kensington died Saturday at home. He was 84.
Born in New Britain, Mr. Carle moved to Kensington in 1978. He was president of
Suburban Travel in Berlin. He was a member of St.
Mark's Episcopal Church in New Britian, Walnut Hill Lodge No. 139 AF&AM, the
American Society of Travel Agents, the Hartford Club and the Berlin Chamber of
Commerce. He was a former member of the Berlin Lions Club and the 33 Club. He
was a graduate of New Britain High School and the University of Hartford. He
served in the 14th Armored Division of the Army during World War II.
He leaves his wife, Katherine Redfield Carle; two daughters and a son- in-law,
Emmy Lou DeBari of Glastonbury and Betty Lou and Kenneth Minasian of Lincoln,
R.I.; two stepsons, Frederick Anlyan of Mill Valley, Calif., and Alexander
Anlyan of Cabot, Vt.; four grandchildren, Meredeth Zaches, Jennifer Giantonio,
Kelly Anlyan and Valeshka Anlyan; a great-grandson, Tyler Zaches; and several
nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark's Episcopal
Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Callinger hours will be Wednesday, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Carlson Funeral Home, 45
Franklin Square, New Britain.
