Bedford - Roland J. Carle, 77, of Sebbins Pond Road, died June 20, 1999, in
his home after a lengthy illness. Born in Manchester on Jan. 10, 1922, he
was the son of Eugene and Woulma Carle. He was a lifelong resident of the
area. During World War II, he served in the U.S.Army with a medical
battalion in the European theatre. Before retiring in 1984, Mr. Carle
worked 31 years for Harvey Construction. He served as a superintendent. He
was a member of Post 79, The American Legion; and the International
Brotherhood of Carpenters, Local 1996. Family members include his wife of
37 yers, Genevieve E. (Turcotte) Carle of Bedford; a brother, Lionel Carle
Sr. of Merrimack; nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Wednesday from 2 to
4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover
Street, Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday
at 11 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Bedford. Burial will be in Mount
Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Visiting Nurses'
Association Home Hospice, 1850 Elm St., Manchester 03101.
