Hi,
I am researching my Carle family. Your web site, on the Kieffer Family,
keeps appearing when I do a search on the LDS site, yet I don't find any of
the people I am looking for.
I am looking for Carles who lived in Fayette County, Ohio, from the 1870s
into the 1920s. Specifically, the George W. Carle family. He had
children: Mary Ellen, Mary Margaret, William H., Newton Jasper, Nancy,
Dendella, Isabel, and George W. Jr., just to name a few. George W. Sr.
fought in the Civil War and was born in Mason County Kentucky. He was the
son of Charles B. Carle. George lived in Brown County, Ohio (1845 & 1851)
where he married two of his three wives, Adams County, Ohio (1850),
Washington County, Kentucky (1847). George's father, Charles, was born
about 1784 in Maryland, according to census records. I have been unable to
attach this Carle family to the other Carles who lived in Ohio.
I figured this is just a stab in the dark, but does anything I have
mentioned sound familiar? I would appreciate any help you could offer.
Sincerely,
Kim Hughes
