All,
Here is the follow-up on the source of the Ephraim Carle
information from Dorothea.
Karl,
sorry to keep sending back on same email. It does keep the information
together, but is quite long.
SOURCES FOR EPHRAIM TAYLOR CARLE:
DAR Official Roster I, p. 67
Inferred from his residency in Harrison County, Ohio in 1833
Ohio Pension Roll, Act of June 7 1832, p. 131
Official Roster of the Officers and Men of New Jersey in the Revolutionary War,
pp. 162 and 532.
Also a brief family history that was in the Belmont County, Ohio History; where
Joseph Carle and hisfamily and descendants settled. This family has scattered
over the years.
Also a letter from Richard W. Precek of Texas. This letter is dated June 7
1982. He was a descendant of Joseph Carle and of course Joseph's father
Ephraim.
We as a Genealogy and Historical Society have the above information; but cannot
provewhere he is buried. I have a suspicion that it is in Jefferson County
since that iswhere I believe his will was probated. The DAR in Jefferson County
cannot confirm this however. The Moravian Trail to my knowledge have no files
on him.
You can use the results of our research up to this point as I said before. We
need to confirm Rev Soldiers who are buried in Harrison County, Ohio; or
disprove; and hopefully to find the correct county for our database.
Thank you for your interest.
Does your Carle File have people from Belmont County, Ohio in it? I have not
downloaded it as of yet because I was interested in Ephraim for our present
purpose.

Dorothea,
Thank you so much for the information concerning Ephraim Carle. Since you
gave permission to use it on our site, I have posted it to the CARLE
mailing list which has a number of active New Jersey Carle researchers who
will be most interested in it.
May I ask what is the original source of your Rev War Records ? I'm sure the
listers would be interested in knowing that as well.
