Joan,
Thanks for your message concerning the CARLE surname.
I have nothing in my files for Jillian Carle or the surname JAKEMAN.
You did not mention a time period for Jillian but I assume that she might
have been part of the CARLE line that was on the east coast prior to
1800.
I am a descendant of Abraham Carle who was born about 1790 in PA, MD, or
NJ. I have various guesses as to Abraham's birth location and have no
info as to who his parents were. Abraham married Elizabeth Margaret West
(date and place unknown). Elizabeth was born 22 July 1794 in Maryland
and died 29 Sept 1872 in Knoxville, Iowa. Abraham was in Highland Co.,
Ohio in the 1840's where he seems to disappear. His wife Elizabeth and a
grown son Eber West Carle appear in Knoxville, Iowa in the mid 1850's
without Abraham.
If you wish I could send a GEDCOM file on Abraham's descendants.

I've wondered whether you have found trace of Jillian Carle
Jakeman.
I
tried in several ways but did not get to call the York County
Historical
Society in Saco to see whether they knew of her whereabouts or where
her
records are.
If you have more information on Jillian I wish you would let me
know.
Also whether one of the Carle researchers of our line would like
the
material she sent to me, along with my records. Jillian and I were
both
descendents of Robert whom you list. Jillian's ancestor was
Robert's son,
Joseph (I think, from memory), and mine was Ebenezer of Hollis ME
who fought
in the Revolution.

From a 5th grader's exam: Ancient Egypt was old. It was inhabited by
gypsies and mummies who all wrote in hydraulics. The lived in the
Sarah Dessert. The climate of the Sarah is such that all
inhabitants have to live elsewhere.
