Curtis A. Douglas 1917-1996
A memorial celebration of his life will be held for Curtis Alexander
Douglas of Dayton at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First Christian Church,
McMinnville. Officiating will be the Rev. Douglas Rose, assisted by the
Rev. Douglas Drysdale.
A potluck luncheon will be held in the church fellowship hall following
the service.
Mr. Douglas died Aug. 24, 1996 in his Dayton home. He was 79.
He was born July 4, 1917, in Salem, the son of Ernest E. and Susie E.
Ramsey Douglas. He attended a school on Grand Island, Dayton High School
and Amity High School, from which he graduated in 1935.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War KK, from 1941 to 1945,
serving in India and Tinian Islands.
He and Louramae Goodrich were married on July 19, 1953 in Dayton.
Mr. Douglas farmed on Grand Island for many years and was a policeman
for the city of Dayton. He also had worked for Hudson House in Dundee and
Peerless Truck and Trailer in Tualatin.
He enjoyed family events, hunting, fishing, woodworking and following
the Oregon State University Beavers teams. He also enjoyed raising a very
large garden from which he supplied friends, family and neighbors with produce.
He liked playing bingo and attending the McMinnville senior citizens center.
He was a member of First Christian Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars
LaDay Post, 40th Bomb Group Association and the International Association
of Machinists and Aerospace Workers-Mt. Hood Lodge No. 1005.
He was a longtime volunteer member of the Dayton Fire Department and
also belonged to The Clan Douglas.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Randi Douglas and Beverly
Douglas, both of McMinnville, Denice Heuberger of Salem, and Brenda
Clemmons of Woodburn; a son Dwayne Douglas of Dundee; two brothers, Erwin
Douglas and George Douglas, both of Sauvie Island in Portland; and two
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Leslie.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church of
McMinnville or to the Dayton Fire Department.
Disposition was by cremation under the direction of Herigage Cremation
Society, Portland.

HUFSTADER--Ruby E. Hufstader of Springfield passed away August 2, 1990
at the age of 83. She was born June 1, 1907 in Dallas Oregon. She was
married September 16, 1925 in McMinnville, Oregon to Chester
Hufstader. She was a member of Eastern Star and was very active in the
Springfield Senior Center. She is survived by her children; Robert
Hufstader of Eugene, and Shirley Appleton of La Pine; one brother George
Ramsey of Portland; two sisters: Lola Martsfield of Dallas and Verda of
Florence; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her husband Chester in May of 1987. Funeral services
will be Tuesday, August 7, at 1 p.m. at LANE MEMORIAL GARDENS FUNERAL HOME,
5300 W. 11th. Interment will follow in Lane Memorial Gardens cemetery.

CHESTER HUFSTADER
Private family services are planned for Chester (Chet) Oliver Hufstader
of Springfield. He died May 16 at the age of 88, Lane Memorial Gardens
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Chester Hufstader was born Jan. 22, 1899, in Wolf Creek to parents
Charles and Emma Hufstader. He married Ruby Ramsey on Sept. 6, 1925, in
McMinnville.
He had lived in this community since he was 10 years old. He belonged
to the Springfield Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; two children: Robert Hufstader of
Eugene and Shirley Appleton and her husband John, of La Pine; his twin
brother, Lester Hufstader of Eugene; one sister, Nina Johnson of Medford;
nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death
by tow brothers, Arthur Hufstader of Springfield and Harry Hufstader of
Bend and one sister, Myrtle Hardisty of Eugene.

CLORA ALWILDA McKEE
Clora Alwilda McKee, 84 died Feb. 23 at Polk County Community
Hospital. She was born in Anadarko, Okla., Nov. 7, 1900, to Clement A. and
Laura Belle Ramsey. She married Lawrence McKee on November 8, 1919.
They farmed at Perrydale nearly 50 years. In 1960 they sold the farm
and lived in Sisters. She resided in Jefferson Manor and Dallas Nursing
Home from Nov. 1982.
Survivors include brother, George Ramsey of Corvallis; sisters Lola
Martsfield of Dallas, Susie Hatfield of Salem, Ruby Hufstader of
Springfield, and Verda S. Seibert of Florence. Preceding her in death were
her husband and son.
After her son Wallace, died she set up a scholarship in his name at
Perrydale High School.
Services were held Feb. 27 at Belcrest Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Al
Tschiegg officiating.
The family suggests that contributions may be made to Perrydale High
School (Wallace McKee Scholarship Fund) or a favorite charity.

LOLA D. MARTSFIELD- June 4, 1895-Aug. 20, 1992
Lola Dornhecker Martsfield of Dallas died in a Dallas care center. She
was 97.
She was born in Rainy, Okla., to Clement and Laura Ramsay.
She lived in the Dallas area most of her life.
She enjoyed traveling. She was a member of Christian Church.
She is survived by her sons, Norval E. Dornhecker of Vancouver, Melvin
Dornhecker of Hood Canal, Wash.; sister Brenda Collins of Florence; brother
George Ramsay of Portland, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Services will be begin at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 26) at Bellman
Funeral Home in Dallas. The Rev. Gary Ivey of First Christian Church will
officiate.
Private burial will be at Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem.
