Mari,
Sure, I have a thought! What's wrong with putting your discussions on THIS
list?
If there is a justification for a centralized mailing list such as this it
is that all may
share and monitor information on the CARLE surname. Now, if you prefer to
hide away with your buddies and keep what you find to yourself it is certainly
your up to you and your pals. As to posting documents and files, as you
well know,
there is currently a CARLE document posting facility as a part of this list
but if that's
too "public" for you are welcome to your hidey-hole.
Now you know my "thought".

Dear List Members
With a (large) group of other researchers, I recently joined a research group
about another surname. In the process of exchanging over the weekend about
Ephraim CARLE, his wife, said "Ruth Higgins" and the first generation of
their children/marriages, I wondered if the time is right to set up a similar
site to exchange research information about the first two or three
generations (only) of the elder Ephraim CARLE. I reserved a site at
MyFamily.com for this purpose. Those sites are accessible only by registered
users (free service, but entails obtaining a username and password from the
site administrator). A
MyFamily.com site provides space available where
registered users are free to upload an image/page of a document, post a query
or statement to which others can respond, or upload family history articles.
A site like this might help us advance the identity of elder Ephraim CARLE,
his marriage(s), children and their marriages. The site might cover the
period say c1700 to the time Ephraims estate was settled, say roughly 1850.
Any thoughts? --Mari
