I'm looking for anyone with connections to a CARL line that was known to have
been in Lancaster, PA in the 1820's.
SAMUEL and TOBITA CARL/CORL appeared in Lancaster, PA in the 1820's (they may
have been there all their lives, don't know) where they had their first 3
children.
In 1828, they moved to Stark Co. and then Portage Co., OH by 1830 where they
settled.
By 1857, some of the children, SAMUEL and DANIEL CARL moved into Marshall Co,
IN to open a sawmill business. Some sisters followed close behind.
Around 1881, one of Samuel's children, THOMAS BENTON CORL went to Douglas Co.
and Jefferson Co, KS. Sister, SARAH ANN CORL PERKINS followed soon after.
By 1903, Thomas' children, ORIN and CLARENCE, moved on into Lawton, Oklahoma
to acquire land.
I suspect that Samuel's father was a WILLIAM, since his first-born son was
named William and his second son was named Samuel... following the
traditional German naming pattern.
