I found a listing in the Ellis Island pages for a Giovanni Carideo, arriving
1906. The page brings up that he was held for detention, but released. So I
searched through the manifest, and found his listing, and it says he is going
to Mount Vernon, to son Angelo. It lists him from Deutecane, widowed,
passage paid by sons.
It has him listed as 73 yrs. old, which would be 1833, and Angelo was born in
1875. Which would make him 42 yrs. old when Angelo was born.
What do you think ?
I think you are definitely onto something! It seems to fit in
perfectly. I'd say we could safely add this to the existing chart and
perhaps include as comments the info you just mentioned. Excellent
find! Well Done!
Ciao for now.
