I also came across this page in doing some research on Frank Carideo. He is
a cousin of my Grandfather Charles S. Carideo, the 'S' stands for Salvatore
but he was known as the 'SHADOW' to all that he worked with. I am Paul Welch
and am also 34 years old and live in Boston. As I am sure you can tell by my
last name my mother is the Carideo in my family. My Great Grandfather and
Frank's father were brothers. My Grandfather just past away about two years
ago at age 93 and in my eyes was quite a man. I was under the impression that
his father was from Naples, but I am not sure. My grandfather grew up in the
Northend of Boston, His father was a train engineer. Any information that you
have about the Carideos would be appreciated as my mother is always looking
for Family.

So I emailed him, and got this reply today, found it interesting, lol
Hi Aggi,
Glad to hear that so many are working on this. I double checked with my
mother to make sure, my great grandfathers name is Carmen. My mother is
not sure if it is short for Carmello or not. Just a little more info, my
Grandfather is one of 13..........there's a shocker. I personal new a
handful of Aunts and Uncles. From all the stories that I have been told
over the years I can remember that my grandfather had a brother Carmello
(Mello) who was killed in the war. The others I know of are Uncle Pat (I
think the oldest), Uncle Joe (The Baron), Uncle John(Ash), Uncle Frank,
Aunty Rose, Aunty Ella, Aunty Josie, Aunty Lilly. The best person to talk
to is probably my mother. Any info you can forward would be great and I
can try to organize my info with my mother and get back to you.
hope to hear from you soon,
Paul
