Justin...you are right in so many ways...let's see if I can fill in a few gaps. My
Dad, your Grandpa Carhart was the second youngest of Oscar and Paulines children.
Kathryn..who married a Spoof was the eldest....then there were two (I think) other
brothers...Oscar and maybe Edward. By the time I came along they had moved to California
so we didn't know them. A couple years after Ward was born there was another baby.
Uncle Harold lived in Chicago, he was married to Virginia. He died before my Dad. In
approx 1929 Pauline Cramer died and my Grandpa Carhart, your great grandpa remarried an
Elsie Cramer. I have never been able to figure if they were sisters or cousins. The only
Carhart cousins I ever knew we're the son and daughter of Katherine Carhart Spoof. I
do not know any other cousins as Uncle Harold had no children. Our Dad was of the
impression that his son, your Dad, David Ernest Carhart was the last male of that line of
the family so you would have held that !
position and now Kevin. David was the third child of Ward William Carhart and Kathleen
Emme Bishop. My Dad met her while stationed outside Little Sunnis, Essex England. They
were married on October 13, 1943. Kathleen moved to the states staying with her in-laws
until my Dad was finished in the war. Your Dad's middle name was the name of a dear
friend and neighbor of my Dad Ernie Fidel who was killed in action during WW II. Your Dad
was born Aug 14, 1952 in My Gulied Ohio. He had two older sisters Paula Margaret October
17, 1948 and Christine Mary September 20, 1950 both born in Springfield Ohio. My Grandpa
Carhart died approx early fall of either 1964/5 Elsie Carhart died in the early 1980. My
mother is still alive, living in England and is 92 years old. Ward married a second time
on February 2 1969 in Las Vegas to Selma Jean Killebrew. She died fairly soon after Ward
