Ruth was married to George Arthur Putnam, originally from the upstate New York area. Ruth
was a radio singer. She was the voice of Elsie the Cow for Borden, and the first person to
sing "I've Got You Under My Skin." George was an announcer for CBS, and
worked with Ed Murrow in the newsroom during the McCarthy era. Eventually they moved from
Connecticut to LA. After his death in the 70s, she later moved to Visalia, where she died.
She was warm, affectionate and loved children, and of course, had a wonderful voice
As for the Carhart family tree. I know very little about it. The only info I have is
Ellsworth, Kansas. I did a google search and found this message board.
