Cornelius Carhart born Sept 6 1729 near Matewan, Monmouth Co., NJ, died June
3 1810, Mansfield Twp., Sussex Co., NJ, buried Old Mansfield Woodhouse
Presbyterian Churchyard. (Is this the correct name of the cemetery??)
Children: Mary Carhart McShane, Sarah Carhart Dusenbury/berry, Robt.
Carhart, Charles Carhart, Cornelius Carhart (born 1765), Lydia Carhart Bowlby
(my ancestor), Williampia Carhart Lacy, Phebe Carhart Coleman, Samuel

There is a Carhart Genealogy Book written by Sarah Carhart Dusenberry in
late 1800's, but I have never seen it. The book has never shown up at
libraries that I have researched. (Susan Ulfers Campbell, Missfiz(a)aol.com)

Joyce, My Catherine (1832 - 1894) did have siblings, they were: Elizabeth,
Samuel, William, Sarah and Lawrence. This family lived in Washington Twp.,
Warren Co. I did notice on the Warren Co. 1850 census page an Albert Carhart,
who was 3 at the time (so, born circa 1847). Maybe he could be a connection.

The book is by Mary E. (Carhart) Dusenbury, published in 1880 and I'm
fortunate to have a copy. I have seen some reprints available at
http://www.bibliofind.com/ but I never made any purchases there.
Mary's book has the same death date (3 Jun 1810) but says "...buried in
the Mansfield Cemetery, near Washington NJ".
I have other interests in Mansfield Woodhouse and would like to know if
it is in Sussex County?

An Albert would probably work, or a John. Just the next generation down
from your Catherine. Do you know of anyone having websites on Carhart from
NJ? I haven't had any luck finding any. Nor the Parsons, who intermarried
with the Carhart/Malkowski link at least twice so far.
Thanks!!

Honestly, I haven't done much research on my Carhart surname yet. I have
tons of material on Skinner (my maiden name)and Pursel (my grandmother's
maiden name), just haven't gotten back as far as great great grandparents
yet. BUT, I am anxious to get started, so if I come across any websites
I will be sure to let you know and I hope you'll do the same. I have written
your address down. Sally
