Hello Listers:
As the new List Administrator, I wanted to take a minute to say "Hello" and wish
you all good luck in your research. My name is Amy Cargill Waltz and I have been working
on finding my ancestors for about 23 years. My Grandfather Cargill arrived in
Philadelphia from Arbroath, Scotland about 1926 (after a brief stay in Guelph, Ontario
that did not work out. The family went back to Scotland, then on to Philly.)
I would also like to take this opportunity to request that everyone take a moment and send
your Cargill interests to the list. We are a small list, so there should be no fear of
email overload. I am a firm believer in troubleshooting with others. I find that talking
things out and getting ideas from other researchers on resources can further your search
or just renew your drive to find the answers! You might have the key to someone
else's locked door or they may have one to yours.
The list should be a good place to come to brainstorm, offer assistance, request
assistance, or look for cousins. I will place little control on the content of the list,
however, the topic should remain the Cargill family (whatever the location) and steer
clear of advertising and off topic issues. Please do not send virus warnings of any kind
to the list. Sales of any kind are prohibited from the list and could result in the
sender being removed from the list.
With all of that said, Let's Find Some New Cousins!
Amy Cargill Waltz
