Hello Cargill researchers.
I would like to take this opportunity to say this:
Lucinda Ann Cargill (born ca l833-l835) who married James Henry Pruett, was a daughter of
Oismond Cargill and Lucinda--(maiden name probably Leatherman) Lucinda Ann who is buried
in the Davidson Cem coryell Co Tx is my 2nd great grandmother. She most definately is not
a daughter of Derostus or Dinsmore. She died in l9l5. Her mother, Lucinda, is buried in
the Ruth Cem (not too far from the Davidson Cem) The Lucinda in the Ruth Cem was married
to Oismond Cargill who died in l849 in Claiborne Parish La. Also in the Ruth cem is
Margaret O Cargill Henry, sister to Lucinda Ann . Margaret and Lucinda had sisters:
Elizabeth, Caroline, and Alice Almeda and another sister who may or may not have been
Sarah or Julia Ann. We have not been able to prove Sarah and Julia as being daughters of
Oismond and LUcinda. However, Lucinda Ann who married Samuel M Pruett is definately a
daughter of Oismond Cargill. Two of Lucinda's sisters married Samuel J Pruett (J is
the middle initial as he si!
gned a land deed in Milam Co Tx)This Samuel J, first married Elizabeth and after her
death, he married Caroline T Cargill. He was not Samuel A Pruett. and there is nothing
showing my Samuel M Pruett as having a middle initial of V.
I only have one paper with his initial on it and that is showing the birth of one of his
sons in Limestone Co Tx and the paper read: Samuel M Pruett and Lucinda as being the
parents . I hope this clears up a few things.
Thanks,
Lajuan Pruett Boyle
