Hi Tammy and William,
Thank you for answering .
My 3rd great grandfather was Oismond Cargill-brother to Derostus and Dinsmore and I firmly
think John C. is a brother. Oismond died l849 in Claiborne Parish La. Oismond's widow
is buried in the Ruth Cem Coryell Co Tx (where I was born) their daughter Lucinda Cargill
Pruett is buried in the Davidson Cem (also called Pecan Grove) in Coryell Co. Lucinda has
a homemade stone and is at the foot of her son: James Henry Pruett.this Lucinda married
Samuel M Pruett. He died l859 of pneumonia while on a trip back to Claiborne Parish La to
bring some cattle to Tx. this info was given to me by the daughter of my great uncle Otis
Pruett (brother to James Henry). I found the grave in Athens, La and it is 2 spaces down
from my John Leatherman. HIs wife elizabeth Graves Leatherman is supposed to be next to
him and then a homemade stone with S.P. l849. The Pruetts, Leathermans, and Cornelius
families all lived in that area. Cornelius Cargill and Ann Cornelius Cargill (a 2nd cousin
to Corneli!
us) died around Russellville, La. We have not been able to locate their graves.Cornelius
and Ann were the parents of Oismond, Derostus and Dinsmore and prob John C.
