I was amazed to see this question. This is the first time I have seen the Cargill message
board. I have been researching my great grandmother, Elverta Cargill, and reached the
same dead end you did. The only reason I was able to get to Alfred Leonard Cargill was a
note my mother had left when she was doing some research before she died. The note
talked about a Norma Cargill and also a brother who had daughters. I started looking and
found something that almost knocked me over. My maiden named is Corinne Cargill Beard.
I'm pretty sure you are related to Corinne Cargill who was born in 1895. I'm so
excited to see your note! I think I have figured out the mystery. I believe Alfred's
father was Henry Bailey Cargill - he had a son listed as Linniel about the same age as
Alfred Leonard. The spelling on most of those kids was wrong. They spelled Elverta as
Eluerta. And since I know he was Elverta's brother because of Corinne Cargill, it
just has to be him. Start with !
Henry Bailey Cargill and the whole thing begins to open up. Please let me hear from you!
Corinne Cargill Beard Kilbury.
