Looking for Careys with origins in Pennsylvania in the early
1700's
(possibly Quakers). Interested in emigration patterns and if any
eventually made it to Canada.

I believe that my family is of this line. I don't know of any of them that made it
up to Canada however. A good book to check out would be "Encyclopedia of Quaker
Genealogy" by William Wade Hinshaw. You can search it at

Tree Maker has it on CD for $60 I believe. It was written by a descendant of Deacon John
Doane. Another decedent of John Doane (a few generations down...) is Rachel Doane (b. 11
Feb 1745 Plumstead Twp, PA d. 1829/30 OH) m. Samuel Carey (2 Apr 1752 Plumstead Twp, PA d.
6 Sep 1823 Salt Creek, OH) 18 Mar 1776 PA (Bucks Co).
