Hello Terry
I found your posting about John Carey interesting. I am trying to locate
the parents of William Carey, born ca 1808 (which works into your dates of
John's children). William died 6 March 1871 in Southcreek, Bradford Co., PA
and is buried in the Checkerville Cemetery there. We do not know who his
first wife was but they had the following children:
Deighton born ca 1836, Mahala born ca 1837, Jason born ca 1839, Harriet born
ca 1841, Joseph born ca 1845 and Sephrona born ca 1848. William's first
wife either died or left (we don't know) and he then married Matilda
Parmeter and they had two children: Sarah and William.
What part of PA is your John from?

Subject: JOHN CAREY OF PA
Still looking for John Carey of Pennsylvania who may have been a soldier
during the
Revolutionary War. He married a Mary Ever and they had four
children, two daughters and two sons, Elizabeth, Philip, and William. I
don't know the other daughter's name. Elizabeth was born September 21,
1790, and married Joseph Culver on December 31, 1812. Joseph was born May
26, 1791. As for the two sons, Philip was a school teacher, and William
married Susan Bricker. Mary Ever was the daughter of Unknown Ever who
married an Unknown Taylor. This female Taylor was the daughter of Robert
Taylor and Jeane Patterson. And that is all I know.
There is a John Carey among the Rev War records but he doesn't seem to fit
my
John Carey
