I've "rescued" an old Autograph Album which originally belonged to Milford
CAREY. Milford is referred to throughout the album as "Milford",
"Miff",
"Mr. Man", and "S.S. Teacher". I believe the first entries start in
1878
and continue through 1881. Based on the writing and the comments made by
those writing in the book I am assuming that Milford is in his late teens or
early 20's at the time. These may well be high school or college friends
who are leaving their remembrances. There is no specific location connected
to Milford in the album.
In addition to friend the following are identified as family members:
Maggie DORST of Downingtown, Pennsylvania (Cousin)
M. E. CAREY of Glen Loch, Pennsylvania, dated Jan 22, 1880(Cousin)
R. B. CAREY of Glen Loch, Pennsylvania (no relationship identified)
Aunt Bell of Downingtown, Pennsylvania (Aunt)

I've tried my best with the names and places, since it is all handwritten it
is sometimes difficult to make out exactly. With limited research I believe
that Milford CAREY was living in Thornbury, Pennsylvania during the 1880
census and recorded in the household of Hugh & Clara B. DEHAVEN. Milford
was listed as the gardener being 21 years of age, born in Delaware to
parents both born in Delaware.
I am hoping to find someone from Milford's family so that this wonderful
treasure can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this
family or know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
