CAREY, Charles Frederick - 88, Kingston, Kings Co., passed
away peacefully Thursday,
January 3, 2002, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton.
Born February 8, 1913, on Morden
Mountain, he was a son of the late Charles and Katherine
(McNally) Carey. With a love of the
land, he farmed in his youth as foreman for George Chase
Co. Ltd. and Welsley Graves in the
Aylesford area before purchasing a small farm in Aylesford,
which he farmed until his retirement.
He enjoyed working with horses and raising bulldogs while
sharing his knowledge to help his many
friends care for ill animals. His greatest joy in life was
time with family and friends, telling the many
stories from his vast memory. He is survived by his loving
wife, Vesta (McMahon) Carey; sons,
Frank, Burlington, Ont.; Willis, Woods Harbour; Jon
(Rhonda), Aylesford; daughters, Ethel
(Bruce) McDowell, Cape Breton; Phyllis (Ken) Viala,
Quispamsis, N.B.; five grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; brother, Ed; sister, Eleanor Thibault.
He was predeceased by his first wife,
Adelaide (Nickerson) Carey. There will be no visitation.
The funeral service will be held 4 p.m.
Sunday, January 6, in Aylesford United Baptist Church, Rev.
Clyde Lowe officiating. Burial in
Aylesford Union Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations
in memory may be made to any
charity. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to H.C.
Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Berwick.
