Thanks for responding. Since I posted my original message, I've made progress on a
number of family lines, but still haven't learned anything further about my William
Alcock b. about 1830. I've seen some information on Sir John Alcock, and to the west
on the Maskelyne Alcocks in Bandon, but haven't established any connection to either
of them. Do you know of a William who might have married in Kinsale in the 1860s?
I have learned that Richard J. Alcock (b. Kinsale Aug 1866 son of Richard Alcock and Mary
Sullivan) is related to my family; he came to New York before my father's grandmother,
and established a steam laundry business. My father's aunt Jane Alcock b. 1864 married
Dennis Fives in Kinsale about 1883.
Children of William Alcock b. about 1830 (and Esther Driscoll b. Kinsale May 1836) were
Jane, Honora, Margaret, Mary, William, and Jeremiah, and two others whose name and gender
I don't know.
Hoping we can help each other,
Regards, Eileen
