Hello Listers,
There is a George Carew buried in the pioneer cemetery
at Marblehead, Mass. USA
The information came to me from another list, but I thought
it might be of interest to you people, also.

Subject: George Carew
Hello,
Your question is very interesting. No, I don't have anything further
on the gentleman. There are several entries under this name
in the IGI, and two are "possibles", with some room for doubt!
One of these has a George Carew, Christened 7 May 1723
at Lanteglos by Camelford, Cornwall, England, s. of
John and Thomasine. This is an extracted birth record,
Batch No. C023082, Source: Bishop's Transcripts, 1684-1773,
Church of England, Parish Church of Camelford (Cornwall),
microfilm of the original records at the District Probate
Court, Bodmin, Cornwall. Now, this would seem most
tantalizing, since the date of birth agrees with George
of Marblehead's age at death. However, another
entry for another George Carew, also son of John and
Thomasine, shows a Christening date of 7 May 1725,
extracted record, Batch no. and source as above. These
are the only actual records in the IGI for the birth of a George Carew
in the British Isles, and would seem to indicate that the
earlier George Carew had died in early childhood.
Family Tree Maker has a CD of the English Inhabitants
at Barbadoes, 1637-1880. I found the site on
google.com
and then couldn't return to it, but I assume the CD is
still available. It lists approximately 200,000 inhabitants.
I then made another search in google,
and came up with a couple of famous "George
Carews", one a High Sheriff of Pembrokeshire (Wales)
in 1639, and "occupant" of Carew Castle" for "much of
the seventeenth century". The other was a "Sir George
Carew", a Vice Admiral who perished on the "Mary Rose", 1545.
Hope this is of some help. If I should come across anything
further, I'll let you know.
