Mr. Edgar Kenneth Carelock, age 78, of Douglas, GA, passed away on Saturday, May 14,
2005.
Mr. Carelock, a native of Coffee County, GA, was born on January 29, 1927, the son of the
late Walter Homer and Nina Mae Wright Carelock. He was a United States Army Veteran of
the Korean Conflict and the Viet Nam Era. He was a personnel director for a poultry
processing plant and a member of Rocky Pond Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Music Carelock; one son, Kenneth homer Carelock and
wife, Susan of Brunswick, Ga; one daughter, Katherine Elaine Carelock Loguna and husband
Leo of Miami, Fla; one sister, Thara Smith of Broxton, GA; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at Rocky Pond Baptist
Church with Rev. Larry Stone officiating. Special music was provided by the rocky Pond
Baptist Church Choir who sang, "I'll Meet You By The River," and piano and
harmonica musical of "Beula Land" by Harry Smith and Debbie Ward. Also Doug
Sheffield and Frances Paulk sang "Prettiest Flowers." Full military honors were
presented by personnel of Fort Stewart, GA. Entombmentfollowed in the Douglas City
Mausoleum at the Douglas City Cemetery, Douglas, Coffee County, GA.
Active pallbearers were Johnny Knight, Steve McClelland, Paul Jowers, Flick Taylor, Billy
Mac Denton, Leon McClellan, Roy Prescott and Truman Ward.
Honorary pallbearers were the Senior Adult Sunday School Class Members of Rocky Pond
Baptist Church.
Sims Funeral Home of Douglas, Coffee County, GA, was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Carelock was a veteran.
