CARLOCK/CEARLOCK, b. ca. 1779, NC, who migrated to Fayette Co., IL. This is my line. I
am a direct descendant of Abraham. My maiden name of CEARLOCK is pronounced like
CARELOCK. These individuals normally spelled their surname as either "CARLOCK"
or "CEARLOCK".

I am guessing that Fayette is in Indiana??

Compton, Frances who is thought to be the "father of the Compton's in
America".
He may or may not be a relative of William and Edward Compton. I am not
positive if William is Edward L. father. I have no proof, this information was
provided to me by a Compton researcher.
