Jean:
If this doesn't answer your question, please rephrase it so that I can
better understand what you want to do. One great way of updating
information is by submitting it to this list. This list is archived, so
other researchers, including me, can gain access in the future to what you
have posted. I am trying to keep track of everyone whom I believe to be
descended from David GERLACH/CARLOCK and his brothers, including the
CARELOCKs. As soon as I get enough information together, I can either
create a separate database with the CARELOCK information or attempt to tie
it into the existing CARLOCK database, then I can post the database or
databases to my webpage.
I'm not sure what program you are using, but I know that the FamilyTreeMaker
program that I use allows me to produce a report of whatever portion of my
database I choose. I can then "copy" that text and "paste" it into
an
e-mail to the mailing list. I can even edit that text as I choose. If you
are using FamilyTreeMaker, I can give you better instructions on how to do
this.
Some sites such as the Social Security Death Index also allow you to add
your own "post it notes" to the entries.
There are also seven CARELOCK Genconnect boards where you can post items
such as obituaries. I have those Genconnect boards "gatewayed" to the
CARELOCK mailing list so that all of those postings will also post to the
list. Those seven boards are for queries, Bible records, biographies,
deeds, obituaries, pensions, and wills. I'll post more information about
those to the list.
I hope this answered your question. If not, let me know and I'll try again.
Sue

Subject: RE: RootsWeb CARELOCK MetaSearch
Thank you for the website for additional searches. I located
incomplete
information about my husband's Father but nothing for my husband, our
children, or grandchildren. Is there an easy way to update or submit
information online without downloading or uploading files?

I'd like to pass along the following site which leads to several other
sites
containing CARELOCK information:
http://searches.rootsweb.com/.
Enter
"Carelock" in the "Last Name" screen under "Search
RootsWeb.com", and the
MetaSearch screen will bring up several CARELOCK listings.
