Message Board Post:
This is a follow-up to my Mar. 17, 2006, posting to the RootsWeb CARLOCK
Message Board titled "Frederick CARLOCK, Jr., m. Isabel CAROTHERS, 1784,
Rowan Co., NC," and my Apr. 6, 2007, posting to this same message board
titled "Re: James M. CARLOCK Family of Alcorn Co., MS, 1880," located at
the following sites:

In my Apr. 6, 2007, posting I stated, "I believe James M. CARLOCK, b.
ca. 1814, MS, to be the same individual as the James CARLOCK listed as
s/o John, George, Frederick, David, on pg. 617 of the book "History of
the Carlock Family," by Marion Pomeroy CARLOCK, 1929. This would make
James M. CARLOCK s/o John CARLOCK, Sr. (1785 - 1865) and his wife
Isabel/Isabelle/Isabella "Ibby" SHELBY (1791 - 1850) of NC and Colbert
Co., AL."
As stated in my Mar. 17, 2006, posting, I believe the book "History of
the Carlock Family," 1929, by Marion Pomeroy CARLOCK, incorrectly listed
James M. CARLOCK's father John CARLOCK as s/o George, Frederick, David.
I believe the correct ancestry for John is s/o Frederick, Frederick,
David.
For further information with regard to this family, see the report on my
home page titled "Genealogy Report: Descendants of Hans GERLACH." Note
that this report is also searchable in Adobe Acrobat by clicking on the
words "(View PDF)" which follow the title of the report.
Within that report, I have James M. CARLOCK's lineage as follows:
Hans GERLACH
David GERLACH/CARLOCK
Frederick (possibly Cornelius) CARLOCK/CARELOCK
Frederick CARLOCK
John CARLOCK, Sr.
James M. CARLOCK
