This is in reply to CharliePrk's July 22, 1999, posting to the RootsWeb
CARLOCK Message Board titled "Carlocks in North and South Carolina."
Following is what I have so far, including sources, for the black/mulatto
family of George CARLOCK/KERLOCK/CARELOCK (b. ca. 1835, SC) of Union Co.,
NC, and Lancaster Co., SC:
George CARLOCK/KERLOCK/CARELOCK was born about 1835 in SC. He died after
1919, possibly in Lancaster Co., SC. He married (1) Laura J.. She was born
about 1835 in SC. George married (2) Thomsie. She was born in 1844 or 1845.
She died after 1919, possibly in Lancaster Co., SC. George
CARLOCK/KERLOCK/CARELOCK was employed as a in farmer. He lived in Union
Co., NC; Buford, Lancaster Co., SC, 1880; and Lancaster Co., SC, 1910, 1920.

George CARLOCK/KERLOCK/CARELOCK and Laura J. had the following children:
1. George CARLOCK.
2. Elizabeth J. KERLOCK/CARELOCK was born about 1865 in SC. She married
Robert HOUGH. He was born about 1859 in SC. Residence: Buford, Lancaster
Co., SC, 1880.
3. James W. KERLOCK/CARELOCK was born about 1868 in SC.
4. Eliza Ann KERLOCK/CARELOCK was born about 1870 in SC.
5. Lou Anna KERLOCK/CARELOCK was born about 1874 in SC.
6. Laura A. KERLOCK/CARELOCK was born about 1877 in SC.
