Hello to all Cardwell researchers,
My connection with the Cardwell line begins with a widowed
lady with three Cardwell daughters - Mary Palmer (Cardwell) daughter
of Jeffrey Palmer and Susanne LeGrand.....
Mary Palmer Cardwell's three daughters were Susanna Cardwell -
Elizabeth G. Cardwell - and Obedience Cardwell ... Their father
was Thomas Cardwell of Virginia..
After the death of Thomas Cardwell; Mary Palmer Cardwell
married William WRAY in Halifax Co. Va. in Dec of 1811...Born
to this union were two sons - Moses Palmer Wray and Laban Palmer
Wray - these two sons are half/brothers to the three Cardwell
sisters - thus my connection to the Cardwell line.....
Susanna Cardwell married Thomas O'Conner and I have three
children in my files from this marriage...
Elizabeth G Cardwell married James Beverly Jones and my
files show eleven children from this marriage - several gen-
erations forward on some of them...
Obedience Cardwell married William Wilson and I have
nothing further on this line...
Elizabeth and James Jones moved to Carroll Co. in Tn.
and Mary Palmer Cardwell Wray with her two WRAY sons also
moved into Carroll Co. Tn. where the boys grew to manhood -
married and started their families...My direct line is from
Laban Palmer Wray who married Nancy S. Hall ... their
marriage produced several children - one of whom is Laban
Palmer Wray Jr. who married Mary Young Kennon ... part of
their children were born in Carroll Co. Tn. and the remainder
were born in Faulkner Co. Ar. where they had moved about 1885 ...
One of their children - William Alonzo Wray -- my grand-
father - married first in Faulkner Co. Ar. - lost his wife in
childbirth with the third child - married a second time in
Hempstead Co. Ar. to Lois Robarts ... this marriage produced
four sons - one of whom was Euel Robert Wray - my father ...
he married Mae McClanahan in 1928 in Ar. I am William Gary
Wray ... one of four born to this marriage ...
Have lots of info to share with those who may have a
family connection ...
Good hunting
