Dear Cardwell Researchers,
I've corresponded with many of you over the last several years concerning
Cardwell family research. I decided to establish a website that is devoted
to researching the Cardwell family of America. It is brand new and there is
still a great deal of information that I am planning on adding to it.
Please visit the site and prowl around. The "Research" page has several
ancestors that are on the "Hot List"! If you are working one of those lines
then please subscribe to the emailing list that I've established for that
individual. I feel that by working together that we can collectively solve
the remaining mysteries concerning this family.
If you are attempting to link your ancestor to the known/researched lines
then follow these steps.
1. Check on the "Research Page" to see if they are on the "Hot List".
If
they are subscribe to the Email List for that person.
2. If they are not found on the "Hot List" then go the "Books Page".
The
"Books Page" contains information on the three Cardwell Family Books that
I've published. Check the "Index" for each book to determine if your
ancestor has already been linked to the known lines. If you have any
questions about if your ancestor is listed in one of the books then contact
me via email at rand(a)cardwellfamily.org
3. If you can not find you ancestor on the "Hot List" or in any of the book
indexes then contact me about establishing your ancestor on the "Hot List".
The website will be updated on a regular basis. The line of Carolina Matilda
Cardwell will be added to the "Hot List" within the next couple of days.
On the "Research Page" there are links to "Allied Families", which I
haven't
added any information to as of yet... so look for it over the next few
weeks. Another link is to "Trees". This page is really turning out to be
fairly hard to design using my limited programming skills, but I hope to
have the first installment up with a week. "Pictures" is off and running. It
contains old family photographs from numerous branches of the family. If you
would like to have some of your old Cardwell family photographs on the page
then email me at rand(a)cardwellfamily.org. The "Veterans Page" is off to a
good start and I have a substantial number of Revolutionary War ancestors
already listed. There is additional information concerning War of 1812,
Mexican War, Indian Wars and Civil War Cardwell ancestors, but given the
huge number of Civil War ancestors this page will take a while to reach its
potential.
I do not have a comments page, but if you have any comments concerning the
site or any of the books feel free to send them to me at
rand(a)cardwellfamily.org. I will be glad to post them on the "Testimonials
Page".
Also, if you ever considering writing an article on your branch of the
Cardwell family I will be glad to post it on the "Article Page". I have
several articles that I plan to write for the page, but getting the "meat"
of the website up is first priority.
Lastly, on the "Home Page" there is a link to a GuestMap in the bottom left
hand corner. This service is pretty cool and allows you to mark your
location on the map and add comments. It will eventually give us an idea of
just how far the family has spread over the last three hundred years.
Anyway, I hope that you enjoy the site and stay with us as we "grow". One of
the things that has been missing in the Cardwell line is a "focus point" to
conduct research. We have that now and I feel strongly that by working
together that we can solve many of the remaining mysteries.
oh yeah..... here is the website address
http://www.cardwellfamily.org
Good diggn',
Rand Cardwell
PS> I've used this hotmail address for several years while researching the
family. I will be phasing it out. Please send all future emails to
rand(a)cardwellfamily.org
