I believe that my husband's ancestor is Nelson Cardwell, son of
Thomas Cardwell of Granville, NC who died in the early 1800's. I
also believe that Nelson named one of his sons Perrin (b. 1830). In
the Simpson Co. KY tax records of the early to mid 1800's there is
a Nelson, Perrin, Thomas and Douglas Cardwell listed. I think
Perrin, Thomas and Douglas are Nelson's sons.
I have found another family on the Internet with the names Nelson,
Douglas and Perrin Cardwell all being used. I found a record in
genweb for a Nelson Douglas Cardwell who is the child of Pleasant
Perrin Cardwell b. 1820 in Rockingham Co. NC and married to
Sarah Catt. Pleasant Cardwell's father is supposed to be Noah
Cardwell b.1796 in Rockingham Co. NC. Does anyone know how
this family fits in? It would seem it was related to my husband's in
some way.
Thanks in advance,
Maureen Watson
