It is good to learn about the other John CARDWELLs. My own, as you
may
recall,
is John of Claiborne County, b. abt 1756, father of Royal "Rial."
Do you know whose son Robert was?
Hey Frank,
Yep! Robert was the son of Robert. Robert Cardwell, Sr. migrated to
Campbell County, VA during the Revolutionary War in which he served.
His sons Robert and Anthony moved to Grainger County, Tennessee around
1820 or so. Anthony and family moved on to the Caldwell Co, Texas area
before 1850.
BTW some new data on the John Cardwell that served in the War of 1812
that enlisted in Claiborne County. This was the John Cardwell that was
the son of Rev. Perrin Cardwell of Knox County, TN.
It is proven in his war records. This John later moved to Kentucky. I
feel this points that the connection between the Rev. Perrin and John
Sr. of Claiborne is very strong as being brothers (something that I
proposed a couple of years ago).
Anyway,
take care and chat with you later.
