Janice, See 2nd paragraph re: NOAH WASHINGTON (two of them!)
Russ Worthington, I'll send you copies also
Anyone else wanting copies, send me your snail-mail address
privately.
Information about NICHOLAS DORSEY WORTHINGTON's gravesite and his
son NICHOLAS J.O.D. WORTHINGTON has existed for a long time. His
wife, however, was never mentioned. My cousin Kathi wanders
through cemeteries and found my MATILDA WORTHINGTON wife of
NICHOLAS DORSEY WORTHINGTON just two weeks ago at the Mt. Olive
Methodist Church (located north of Rt. 26 on Old Court Road in
Randallstown). In the same area there were SHIPLEY's (one with
middle name of CHEW), FITEs, WARDs, WALTERs (I think Matilda was
the daughter of an ODELL that married RACHAEL WALTERS but haven't
confirmed that for myself, just seen it posted on an ODELL
website.) Anyhow, after attending the Baltimore Co. Genealogy
Society meeting yesterday Kathi and I visited Mt. Olive and and
took pictures.
Janice,
We then went to Mt. Paran Presbyterian which is located further
west on Rt. 26 in Randallstown MD (before the little town of
Holdbrook) and I took pictures of NOAH WORTHINGTON's tombstone
and two others next to him (another Noah and I forget the female
name.) They were located towards the back left corner of the
church. There was a JACOB WORTHINGTON buried in the front row to
the left of the church. Behind the church there was TOWSON and
WORTHINGTON (took pictures last month not developed yet). I will
send copies of them if you'll send me your snail-mail address.
There are FITEs, CHAPMANs, WARDs and ODELLs at Mt. Paran.
Yesterday was my last MD research trip (for awhile) since we are
leaving MD for SC on Thursday 9/30/99. Sadly I am leaving my
Cousin and all those wonderful ancestors deep in the soil of MD.
Happily, some of them migrated south towards SC and TN and VA.
I've been collecting many e-mails about all these surnames and
after the move and unpacking, I will print/read/analyze and try to
connect them back to MD.
There are COMPTONs, CARDWELLs, BELLs, VANDIVERs, BARKLEYs,
GOODRUMs, COUCH and PRATHER/PRATER/PRAYTORs that get involved
with MD ancestors further south.
I'll be doing the Genealogy Jig(saw) for quite a while!

My newly-found ODELL cousin and I visited Mt. Parran's Cemetery
in
the Randallstown MD area and I've seen the gravestone of a Noah
Worthington. Cousin Kathi is the expert in that area of
"Soldier's Delight" where Mt. Parran's is located. (Not too far
from OWINGS MILL MD) I am in process of moving from MD to SC
but
will see if Kathi and I can arrange another trip to the area and
confirm dates. I will take my camera and take pictures of
surround/related stones.
Wanda
