Has anyone else out there besides me noticed how many Perrins there are out
there? It makes researching the Cardwells difficult.
Janel,
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! I agree! My major area of interest is the Cardwell
families that lived or passed through Tennessee. That research has led
me back into NC and VA also. Here are a few Perrins that I've found
along the way. Some have strong documentations. Others are only shadows
at best. Maybe someone can add something to help things out.
1. Perrin Cardwell - b,1761 M. Elizabeth Worsham lived in Ameila Co.VA,
Grainger Co,TN and Knox County,TN - lots of info on this guy!!!
2. Perrin Cardwell - old guy that shows up in Wilkes Co.NC in the
1770/80s. I believe that he is listed as a soldier during the BAttle of
King's Mtn during the Rev. War, but can not 100% prove this. Some
researchers have him moving to KY for his later years.... not sure
myself.
3. Perrin Cardwell - of Adair County, KY - your dude
4. Perrin Cardwell - son of John Cardwell that lived in Claiborne
COunty, TN. This Perrin was born in the 1780s and is a shadow on the
most part. A few court records (jury duty, deeds, etc) but very little
info on if he married and had any children. He disappears out of
Claiborne County, Tn around 1832 and family history states that he "went
west".
4. Perrin Cardwell - son of William Cardwell, GS of Thomas Cardwell that
settled on the mouth of Ball creek in Claiborn County,TN. Born around
1808 died around 1855. Have some info on his children. He married a
Norris in Grainger County,TN.
5. Perrin Cardwell - son of Perrin Cardwell (#2 from above) born ca
1770-80 married a Catherine. Moved to Carrol County, TN with brother
Richard. Then to Green Co. Arkansas by 1840.
6. Perrin Cardwell - son of Perrin Cardwell (#5) GS of Perrin Cardwell
(#2 from above). Born ca 1817 married Elizabeth Ann Stone in Carrol
County <TN on 19 Jan,1839. Moved to Green Co. ARK with family in 1840
7. Perrin Cardwell - son of Daniel Cardwell. GS of Perrin Cardwell (#1
from above) lived with his GF Perrin Cardwell after the death of his
father. Lived out his life in Knox County, TN. Was a dentist.
I'll stop with that one.... I'm sure there are a few others, but I just
got home from working a midnight shift and desire to get some sleep.
Hope this helps someone make a tie in!!!
Later,
Rand Cardwell
