I have Cardwell's in Montgomery County, but no John or Anderson. However, I
did a little research to see if I could help you. I found a John W.
Cardwell applied for a pension on Sep 8, 1890. He was the one who served in
Company G, 5th MO Cavalry. He was an invalid, application #897001,
certificate #682679, filed from Missouri. Perhaps if you send for his
application, it will give you more information.

Subject: [CARDWELL] John Cardwell buried in Franklin county Missouri
Hello Cardwell list,
I have a mystery for someone to help with. My great Grandfather Anderson
H Cardwell b 1837 in Claiborne county Tennessee moved to Missouri before
the Civil War. He served in Company C of the 5th Missouri SM Calvary.
While going through some cemetery listings of Franklin County, Missouri
where part of AH Cardwell's relatives stopped, I found a John Cardwell
who served in Company G of the 5th Missouri SM Calvary. There are no
birth or death dates on this page. What I am wondering is this: Is this
John Cardwell kin to my G grandfather? There are other Cardwells buried
in this cemetery, some I recognize as being related to my Ggrandfather.
Would appreciate any help.
