I could not find any match with your Domenico Cardone. However, there are four Domenico
Cardone's in my family tree. Maybe your Domenico Cardone is a descedant of one of
them.
My Cardone family tree go back 14 generations, spanning over 500 years, almost all of them
were born in Pietrelcina, Italy. The earliest known Cardone ancestor that I have is a
Domenico Cardone who was born circa 1560, was married to Rosa Massaro. Together they
had six children: Bellonia (born 1580's), Clemente (Nov 24, 1584), Giovanni Luca (Nov
22, 1588), Tomasso (1590's), Virglia (Jul 17, 1594) and Angelo (Jul 7, 1600).
Three other Domenico Cardones I have are:
1. Domenico Cardone (born Aug 19, 1625), son of Giovanni Luca, grandson of the elder
Domenico.
2. Domenico Cardone (born between 1706 and 1708), son of Sebastino Cardone & Angela
Corbo, 3rd great grandson of the elder Domenico.
3. Domenico Cardone (born circa 1715) , who had married Maddelena Pennullo, and had a
daughter Anna Cardone (born about 1736)
I also have six Maria Cardone, and one of them was born about 1780, which is close to your
Maria Cardone. This Maria Cardone was the daughter of Fortunato Cardone and Apollonia
Catalano. do these names ring a bell ?
My great grandfather also was Cosimo Cardone. He was born on February 25, 1877, and was
the son of Michelangelo Cardone and Anna Boscaino. All three of them came to New York
between 1891 and 1895.
Even if we cannot find any connection, there is a remote possibility that we came from
same ancestors, because, the Cardones were one of the earliest settlers of the medieval
section of old Pietrelcina (which explains why the Cardone is the most populated surname
for the town), and almost all of the Pietrelcina Cardones came from them.
If you have or can find more information about who were your grandparents' parents,
please share them with me because there may be a better chance of finding potential
connections. and I can look them up.
Hope this helps,
Richard
