Karen, I recommend that you post a time frame and more details to help you get some
responses to your message.
Your first line will encourage or discourage a response. Try to say something about your
search. Common surnames without detail draw NO responses. The goal is to get a reply,
preferably an informative one. Your query needs to stand "up" and be recognized.
Always include a name with a place and a date at, or very near the beginning of the query.
1. Full names should be in the query with the surname CAPITALIZED.
2. Make sure you mention where your ancestor lived or at least the state/county if town is
unknown.
3. Dates should be included or at least a time frame that the family was in an area.
4. Include any collateral names, again, post the surnames in CAPITAL letters.
Also be sure to type in the SURNAMES that are in your message, into the Surname field.
Only surnames (last names) should be listed in the Surname Box, and each should be
separated by a comma. The Surname Box is used to index the surnames in your message and is
not to be used for listing surnames not included in the message text.
