Check their death and burial dates/places. That might help eliminate the
distant cousins.

Message Board Post:
I was at the Provincial Archives in Toronto today, looking for clues on my
ancestor Henry Carder. I managed to find his death registration today, but
I was disappointed to see lines drawn through "date of birth", "age at
death", "father's name", "father's place of birth",
"mother's name", and
"mother's place of birth". Isn't it a find when those pieces of
information
are all there???
In any case, the only useful information was that he was born in England,
which family stories said was the case already. I haven't found him in any
census yet, but I know from his death notice in the Leamington Post that he
died in 1915 at 94 years of age.
Several family trees on the WorldConnect pages list a Henry Carder born in
1820 in Ickleton, Cambridge. I don't think I can assume they're the same
person based on the date of birth being about what it should be. Can anyone
give me advice on how to figure out if these two men are the same?
