Pat Dunn -
My database covers all Carden references in RC parishes in
Co Mayo, but as you will see from reference books such as
Grenham, very few parish registers begin before about 1840. Here
is what I have, I fear not much use to you. I think I would have
found Bridget's marriage if in Co Mayo, so they probably married on
arrival stateside.
Crossmolina:
Born 11.12.1838, baptised 14.1.1838 (sic) Bridget of Michael Caden
and Mary Hopkins (Crossmolina).
Kilmoremoy (registers missing 1837-1849):
Born 15.2.1823, baptised 16.5.1823, John and Bridget of Patrick
Cardin and Celia Barrett (Farranuad?)
Born 19.1.1827, baptised 24.1.1827, Bridgit of Patrick Cadin and
Anne Kelly (Curumla)
Born 26.4.1829, baptised 27.4.1829, Bridget of Walter Carden and
Kitty McNaa (Hill Street)
Born 25.12.1831, baptised 1.1.1832, Bridget of John Carden and
Mary O'Brien (Bellick)
Kilmoremoy parish covers the town of Ballina, where many Cardens
are to be found.
