Dick, am I right in thinking that you are Richard O Carden of Cumberland, VA
<flywrite(a)erols.com> with whom I exchanged emails as follows few years ago,
resulting in a negative DNA test result?
12 Dec 2005 (in answer to my query). We've been in contact before when I
responded to one of your postings, but it was some time ago. I'm in Virginia
(one of the misbehaved colonies). I've been able to trace my ancestry to
Joseph Carden, who was living in Virginia in the latter half of the 1700s.
But, as yet, I've been unable to find details about his birth, parents, etc.
(replied with explanations)
13 Dec. Yes, I'd like to take up the offer. I think I prefer the
25-marker test. My mailing address is: Richard O. Carden, 132 Carter Rd.
Cumberland, VA 23040
14 Dec. Kit 48827 issued. Julie instructed to deduct $30.
8 Feb 2006 Result received, no match (genetic difference of 10 from
nearest Carden). Sent him an email to this effect.
If so, please will you confirm your address.
If you go to
http://cardengathering.blogspot.com you will find information
about our Carden Gathering to be held in England in September. I am
delighted to say that Leland Carden's daughter Beth has agreed to lead a
seminar on Cardens in USA, principally concerned with discovering early
links to English ancestors, and there will probably be a genealogist from
London to give advice. What about jumping on a plane and coming too?
