JOHN CARDEN's Last Will and Testament ---
No 277 of 1907 In the Name of God Amen, I John Carden of the City of
Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, do make this my last will and
testament. And first; I direct that my body be decently interred in the
Roman Catholic Cemetery, according to the rites and ceremonies of the Roman
Catholic Church and that my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding
with my estate and situatin in life. Second I Direct that all my first
debts be paid as soon after my deceases as is convenent fo rmy Executrix
hereinafter named and mixed to my beloved wife Mary absolutely and at her
death to dispose of the same as she sees fit. I hereby constitute and
appoint my said wife Mary sole executrix of this my last will and
testament. In witness whereof I John Carden the testator have to this my
will written on two sides of sheet of paper set my hand and seal this
twenty second day of October One Thousand eight-hundred and ninety
seven. Signed, sealed published and declared by the above named John
Carden as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us, who
have hereunto subscribed our names at his request as witnesses thereto in

day before me Frank A Battle Register of Wills in and for the County
aforesaid personally came Charles P. Bohan and E J.McDonnell the
subscribing witnesses to the above and foregoing last will and testament of
John Carden late of the City of Pittston Luzerne County and State of
Pennsylvania deceased who being duly sworn according to law do say that
they were present and saw and heard John Carden the testator sign his mark
seal publish, pronunce and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as
and for his last will and testament and that at the time so doing he was of
sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and
belief and that they did sign their names as subscribing witnesses in the
presence of each other and in the presence and at the request of the said
testator.
